Andrew McGinty

Andy leads the operations and management of NewCastle Development Group.  He oversees all land and community acquisitions, business strategy and investor relations.  Andy has over a decade of experience in residential and commercial real estate in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.  Prior to his career in multifamily development, he was an executive with the management consulting firm Accenture in Washington, DC and Paris, France.  Andy has an MBA from The University of Virginia and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Jess Achenbach

Jess heads the development team for NewCastle Development Group. He is lead on all land acquisitions, deal structuring and entitlements for all of NewCastle’s development opportunities.  He manages project planning and oversees new development preparation and design.  Prior to joining NewCastle, Jess worked for Jones Lang LaSalle in its Chicago based Capital Markets and Investment Sales group.  He founded and ran a residential real estate development company prior to his joining NewCastle.  Jess has a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

Adam Swartout

Adam leads the construction team for NewCastle Development Group. He is responsible for the successful execution of all of NewCastle’s Virginia projects from development through construction and stabilization.  He draws on his 25 years of experience in the construction and real estate industry to oversee the design and construction of NewCastle projects and integration of the leasing and property management teams.  Prior to joining NewCastle, Adam was a Project Executive with Grunley Construction and played a key role in the company’s significant growth in the Washington D.C. market during his 15 year tenure.  He also served as Director of Construction for a leading real estate development company in the Charlottesville, VA area.  Adam holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State University with a specialization in Construction Management.

Jeff Shifflett

Jeff is responsible for the successful execution of all of NewCastle’s North Carolina projects from construction to stabilization. Prior to joining NewCastle, he served as a Director for CMA Inc., responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating all construction activities pertaining to the successful implementation of Liberty University’s master development plan. His experience also includes working for an ENR TOP 50 Construction Management firm that focused on higher education, health, and institutional projects. Born and raised in Central Virginia, with a Building Construction degree at Virginia Tech, Jeff is a true local with personal and professional ties to the communities that NewCastle serves.

Steve Clay

Steve is responsible for NewCastle’s financial operations, including all project accounting and reporting, annual tax filing coordination and investor reporting communications. In addition, Steve is responsible for developing and monitoring NewCastle’s Asset Management program to maximize asset value and investment returns for our portfolio of communities throughout Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Prior to joining NewCastle, Steve was Vice President of Global Procurement and Corporate Real Estate for global engineering firm Cardno, where he oversaw all real estate operations across 120 nationwide locations. Over his 20+ year career with Cardno and it’s predecessor firm, Steve was instrumental in the company’s significant growth. Steve holds an MBA from James Madison University, and a BS in Operations Management from Miami University, in Oxford, OH.

Philip Krebs

Phil is responsible for deal underwriting, financial analysis, and project support throughout the acquisition and development life cycles. Prior to joining NewCastle, Phil worked at PwC in its Chicago M&A practice.  While pursuing his MBA, he completed internships in real estate investment with Covenant Capital Group and Zurich Alternative Asset Management. Phil has an MBA from the University of Virginia and a BBA with a dual major in Accountancy and Applied Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.

Kyle Wittman

Kyle co-manages NewCastle Development Group’s Baltimore office with Kyle James, where they are responsible for NewCastle’s Maryland operations. Kyle has a over a decade of multifamily real estate experience across a wide variety of financing and asset structures, ranging from urban mixed-use projects to suburban garden-style developments. He is familiar with a variety of financing programs, from HUD mortgage insurance to conventional financing and private equity. Kyle has a M.B.A in Finance and a B.B.A in Accounting from Loyola University Maryland.

Kyle James

Kyle is responsible for sourcing, entitling and developing new multifamily opportunities for NewCastle’s Maryland operations. Additionally, he procures and maintains equity relationships with a variety of limited partners across a multitude of partnership structures. Kyle has over a decade of experience in development spanning the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining Castle, Kyle was the lead on retail and mixed use projects for a developer in Baltimore. Kyle has a Masters from Johns Hopkins University and a B.B.A in Finance from Loyola University Maryland.
